Watch a Shark Grab an Australian Kid Swimming

A shark decides it would like the fish itself just as the child is getting into the boat from the water while holding a fish they have caught.

Sharks are excellent at sneaking up on things in the water,

as the video at the bottom of this page demonstrates! The species of this particular shark is unknown,

but it is obviously very interested in the fish. As a carnivore, this shark needs to be able to spot prey in the water and on the surface in order to attack.

Many sharks have complex brains that allow them to process information...

...from multiple senses at once, which enables them to do this.

Since light does not travel through water as well as it does through air, it will always be difficult to see objects in the distance.
