CA—PALA MESA A rollover incident on Interstate 15 in Pala Mesa killed two, including a newborn, and injured four Sunday evening.
The California Highway Patrol reported a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in Pala Mesa around 3:13 p.m.
Officers found the crash closer to the Interstate 15/State Route 76 interchange at Bonsal.
The California Highway Patrol reported a black pickup truck, white Tesla, and black automobile in the incident.
Captain John Choi of North County Fire Protection District said one adult and an infant died at the site.
The vehicle hit the Tesla and black sedan quickly. "A very young juvenile" and an adult female perished on the scene, Officer Gerber said.
"DUI could be a cause of the collision," Officer Gerber added. The pickup truck driver was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Crash causes are being investigated. Pala Mesa southbound traffic affected Murrieta. Lane closures were planned until 11 p.m. Sunday.
