The NFL World Reacts to Drew Brees' Remarks About Derek Carr

The Saints have been looking for a qualified replacement to Drew Brees for the past two years.

They're hoping Derek Carr is what they're searching for. Carr inked a four-year, $150 million contract with the Saints in March.

This deal offers a guaranteed sum of $100 million. Brees discussed the Carr deal while at the Zurich Classic pro-am this week.

He believes the experienced quarterback will thrive in New Orleans. "I believe he will get along well with [offensive coordinator] Pete Carmichael."

"I think he's got some weapons around him," Brees told The Advocate's Luke Johnson on Wednesday.

"I'm glad Michael Thomas will be back and hopefully healthy; he deserves it." I believe they will be well-positioned to make a run at it."

NFL fans had different feelings about Brees' comments. "Carr is going to turn his career around like Brees did when he got to NO. The Saints are going to win that division."

Carr is on pace for 4200 yards and 30 touchdowns. "At the very least, 11-6," one fan stated."He isn't even a top ten QB in the NFL," another fan responded.
