The Duffer Brothers Back Netflix's 'Stranger Things' Animated Spinoff Before Season 5!

There's more to look forward to once Stranger Things ends. Netflix announced Monday that the smash drama will be animated.

Upside Down Films, 21 Laps, and Flying Bark Productions will produce the untitled picture.

The lauded Stranger Things creators told PEOPLE they've been working on an animated version.

"To see this dream realized has been simply thrilling," they remarked.

"The screenplays and artwork are great, and we can't wait to share more with you," they said. "Adventure continues..."

The cartoon series' Netflix debut is undetermined. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is slated to begin production this summer.

Season 4 of the Netflix drama debuted in May 2022 with startling deaths and major storyline twists.

The season focused on the beloved kids' fight against the wicked Vecna, who appeared to be an extension of the creatures they've been fighting since season 1.

Character Max (Sadie Sink) reluctantly visited his Upside Down home and barely survived.

Max's fate remains unknown until season 5. Her last remarks in a coma suggested Max was blinded by the beast.
