Shocking cuts on 'American Idol' Season 21's first live results show

On Sunday's premiere live competition/results broadcast of Season 21 of American Idol, the competition began.

 ABC hosted what Ryan Seacrest described as a "three-hour party" 

On the program's enormous, brand-new set. By the end of the third hour, six eliminated vocalists could no longer celebrate.

 However, after Ryan prompted each semifinalist to perform, the top 26 competitors were reduced to the top 20. 

Two of my personal favorites were eliminated, along with two others I knew would rank highly among Americans.

The legendary theater diva Emma Busse was one of these two revelations. Last week, 

Emma's rendition of a Sam Smith cover left adjudicator Katy Perry gushing about her singing ability.

Since a trade of Aaron Rodgers from the Packers to the Jets will expire when the clock chimes midnight on Friday night,
