The 3-year-old kid who died Friday morning in a Porter Ranch backyard pool has been identified.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that Kai Bernabe died in the hospital three months before his fourth birthday
Fire authorities claimed the boys' parents found them in the pool, got them out, and started CPR while talking to L.A. Fire Department dispatchers.
The Fire Department said firefighters and EMTs arrived at the Des Moines Avenue cul-de-sac residence after 10:30 a.m.
“Paramedics worked feverishly to provide every chance for these children,” LAFD Capt. Eric Scott told reporters Friday.
Regional pediatric trauma centers received the children.
“Tragically,” Scott continued, “one of those boys was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The second child's condition was unknown Saturday evening.TV video of Porter Ranch shows a majestic ranch home with a large pool and patio.
“There’s nothing to indicate anything beyond a tragic accident here,” LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz told reporters Friday.
The mayor's Crisis Response Team visited to help relatives and neighbors.
