Casey Hayward Jr., a former Pro Bowl cornerback, had a disappointing season with the Atlanta Falcons past season,
appearing in only six games due to a shoulder injury. After being released by Atlanta on Friday,
he will now explore for other chances.Hayward has proven in the past that he can be a huge piece in any team's secondary,
appearing in two Pro Bowls during his 11-year NFL career.
Unfortunately, it appears that the team's trade for former first-round pick Jeff Okudah was an
indication that they were ready to let Hayward go, which resulted in his release on Friday.
One reason the Falcons made this decision was to save $5 million against the salary cap by removing Hayward.
This year was intended to be the final year of his two-year contract with Atlanta before he was let go.
Hayward, 33, may struggle to find a definite role on a squad as the 2023-24 season approaches.
