Moon Bin, a member of the boy band Astro, died at the age of 25.

Moon Bin, a member of the boy band Astro, died at the age of 25 on Thursday, according to his music firm Fantagio.

Fantagio claimed on Instagram that Moon Bin "suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."

At around 8:10 p.m., his manager discovered the star dead in his home in southern Seoul. Yonhap news agency reported quoting police on Wednesday night.

"All Astro members, Fantagio colleagues, executives, and employees who've been together for a long time are deeply mourning the deceased in such great sadness and shock,"

the music label said, adding that the bereaved family's grief was "incomparable."

The music label said it was painful to share the news to fans, because the late musician "always loved and thought of the fans more than anyone else."

People were also encouraged to "refrain from speculative and malicious reports" while the family grieved.

Moon Bin made his debut with Astro in 2016. Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo, and Yoon San-ha round out the group.
