Mia Goth Joins Marvel's "Blade" Half-human, half-vampire Mahershala Ali stars.

Actress Mia Goth, known for her work in horror films like X and Pearl, is set to join the cast of Marvel Studios' upcoming movie, Blade.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Goth will play a role in the horror-centric side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Blade stars Mahershala Ali as the half-human, half-vampire protagonist who seeks revenge for his mother's death by hunting down vampires. 

Yann Demange, known for Lovecraft Country, will direct the film with a script by Michael Starrbury.

The character Blade was introduced in the comic book series The Tomb of Dracula No. 10 in 1973 by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan. Wesley Snipes portrayed Blade in a trilogy of films in the 2000s.

The new Blade was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 and is scheduled for release on September 6, 2024. Production is expected to take place in Atlanta.

Before her role in Blade, Goth will begin shooting MaXXXine, the third film in the X series by A24 and filmmaker Ti West. She recently appeared in Brandon Cronenberg's horror feature Infinity Pool.

Goth is represented by WME, Curtis Brown Group, and Jackoway Austen. Deadline was the first to report her casting.
