Joe Cordina is ready to put his career-threatening injury behind him against Shavkat Rakhimov, according to Charlie Sims.

Joe Cordina, the former IBF world super featherweight champion, is 31 years old. He was crowned on June 4, 2022, 

following a dramatic one-punch knockout of then-champion Kenichi Ogawa in the second round. Cordina, who had a long amateur career,

represented his country in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He obviously did not live up to his promise,

but it was a commendable achievement that propelled the Cardiff man to prove his naysayers wrong in the professional ranks.
