BKFC 41 live blog: Mike Perry vs. Luke Rockhold

This is the BKFC 41 live blog for Mike Perry vs. Luke Rockhold, the light heavyweight main event on Saturday's show in Denver's 1stBank Arena.

Rockhold, a former UFC middleweight champion, makes his bare-knuckle debut after leaving the organisation.

He was defeated by Paulo Costa at UFC 278 in his most recent fight. It was his first fight in three years, following a three-year hiatus due to a 1-3 record with three knockout losses.

Perry makes his third outing in the BKFC ring, and his third encounter with a fellow MMA veteran. In his previous appearance, he won an overtime decision over Bellator welterweight star Michael Page.

Round 1: Rockhold faces Perry coming in, and Perry continues to pursue. Rockhold stands tall, wrapping Perry up against the ropes. As Perry draws in, his straight left gets through on the break and he hooks.

Perry simply eats them and charges, landing to the body and with one low. We come to a halt as Dan Miragliotta observes the foul. Perry is waved in by Rockhold, who runs into a right and works against the ropes. Rockhold wrestles him, and they tie up, separating.

Perry is hit with a straight left and wobbles, as Rockhold attempts to rush in and is caught in the clinch. Perry's jab injures Rockhold, and Perry flurries against the ropes. Rockhold consumes two left straights.

Rockhold works the jab in round two, as Perry chases him with hooks. More hook counters from Rockhold as he tries to defuse Perry's anger with movement. We restart when he slips.

Perry digs to the body as they trade strong lefts. Rockhold moves laterally, and Rockhold attempts the left hook once more. Perry slams the body into the ropes. Rockhold appears to be tiring, moaning about something in his mouth.
