Achilles injury sidelines USMNT striker Daryl Dike for nine months.

According to a Tuesday statement from West Brom, American international Daryl Dike will be sidelined for up to nine months due to an Achilles injury.

On Saturday, West Brom defeated Stoke 2-1. The striker needed an oxygen mask and was carried off on a stretcher.

Albion striker Daryl Dike will be out for six to nine months after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury against Stoke City on Saturday, according to a club statement.

The USA international's right Achilles will need to be repaired surgically, according to a later scan, after which he will start his rehabilitation.

Dike will receive all the assistance he needs from Albion's medical and sports science teams to regain full fitness later this year.

Dike scored seven goals in 23 Championship games for West Brom this season, putting himself back in the running for the USMNT.

The match against Mexico on Wednesday was played outside the FIFA international window, so Dike was not on the USMNT roster.
